Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort

More than 150 years ago, a spring-fed creek flowed through the Las Vegas Valley, creating an oasis in the desert. Travelers from all around the region - native Paiutes, traders, emigrants, and gold-seeking nomads - were drawn to flowing water and abundant grasses. Stacked adobe provided shelter for those who were seeking refuge from the unforgiving elements of the Mojave desert.
