Cognizant of current discourse dominated by sustainability and social justice, with design as an afterthought, hindered by policies and an academic resolve that favor research over creative and exploration, Eric hopes to address these shortcomings in a symposium exploring the creative achievements of top landscape architects whose work exceeds a mere functional satisfaction of program to celebrate an emotional experience through personal aesthetic. The workshop expands the conversation, questioning the current approach to environmental design practice, underscoring a return of art in design and elevating landscape in community health and welfare.
