Mayor’s Annual Symposium

2017-2022 | Las Vegas, NV

Working with Professors Maria Vera and Steven Clarke, Eric established an annual symposium on the future of Las Vegas through the lens of urban design. Fully sponsored by Mayor Goodman and the Las Vegas City Council, the Symposium brings top architects, landscape architects, urbanists, thought-leaders, and policymakers together at the UNLV Downtown Design Center to assess key challenges cities face throughout the country and offer examples of how these challenges are being creatively addressed through design and community engagement. By sharing ideas and promoting quality urban design principles, a discussion about the potential of Las Vegas is being created.

Speakers have included: Larry Scarpa (Brooks + Scarpa), Carol Ross Barney (Ross Barney Architects), David Baker (David Baker Architects), Julie Eizenberg (Koning Eizenberg Architecture), Vishaan Chakrabarti (PAU Studio, Columbia GSAPP), Reed Kroloff, Walter Hood (Hood Studio), Chris Hawthorne, and Jerry Van Eyck (!melk).
