HENDERSON INFILL
2025 | Las Vegas, NV
Recent efforts led by the city aim to redevelop their downtown city center. As part of this redevelopment, our project celebrated the industrial ethos and aesthetic of Henderson’s history, while embracing the commercial, residential, and density needs of a modern urban core.
Located in the Water Street district of downtown Henderson, the design references the utilitarian materials and industrial edge readily apparent in this urban center. Metal has a long history with Henderson, with titanium plants from the 1950’s such as Timet located just outside the downtown core. The design incorporated a standing seam metal panel system painted black to reflect the texture and shading of the black mountains. CMU has been used throughout the valley and is used in the material collage as a grounding material, physically connecting the project to the site. Plaster is incorporated as the accent to the project, visually drawing one to the project as if wrapped in neon. The metal panels are fabricated from recyclable material, while the CMU and plaster use fly ash within the concrete mix.
